We recently received a pdf document that needed some input and changes.  As you probably know, one of the features of the pdf file format is that it is by design un-editable.  That led to a search for a converter of some kind.  We found one, and there is a free version.

Online OCR (www.onlineocr.net) provides a convenient upload-convert-download functionality.  The free version allows up to 15, single page pdf conversions per hour.  If you need more, a paid version is available.
