Time to Update Windows XP and Office 2003
Microsoft Announces the End of Support
Microsoft has announced the end-of-life date for supporting two products; the Windows XP operating system and the Office 2003 suite of business productivity tools.
End of support means there will be no new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates after April 8, 2014. Continuing to use these products after support has ended potentially exposes you to avoidable and unnecessary security risks.
The latest versions of Windows and Microsoft Office provide markedly improved security and operating characteristics, as well as capabilities and features that are optimized for working in the cloud.
Microsoft offers ten year life spans for each of its products, including five years of active support and five additional years of extended support. The largest companies can take between 18 to 24 months to fully deploy upgrades; but even smaller organizations should begin to make the change now.
We can help you upgrade to the latest versions of Windows and Microsoft Office. There are many additional benefits to using the newer software versions in addition to continued support. If you are still running Windows XP or Office 2003, contact us for more information on making the change.
